RAISING AWARENESS IN RICHMOND

LYNN

WEST COAST SWING

Age- 54

Occupation – I work with my husband.  We own WW&W Land Development, Inc.  We are a licensed earth moving contractor.

Children  -  I have 5 beautiful children.  4 girls and 1 boy.  I also have a grandson and a granddaughter, who are the light of my life.

When were you diagnosed? August 2002

How was it found? I found the lump in my left breast painting a bedroom.  The calcifications in my right breast were found on a mammogram.

Do you have a family history of breast cancer? No – but my mother has recently diagnosed with breast cancer.

As a woman what gives you your strength? The love and support of my family.  There is no greater love or strength you can gather when it comes to someone you love deeply and the force you get within yourself to do what needs to be done to make the best choices for everyone.  The Hawthorne Cancer Resource Center is an absolutely amazing strength of support as well.  It has enabled me to be a stronger and wiser person for myself and my family.  The wealth of knowledge and love there is incredible.

Briefly state in your own words something about yourself that you want people to know.    I am excited about this pink tie gala.  I have always wanted to take dance lessons but have not taken the initiative to do so.  This will be one of my long term accomplishments I have always wanted to do.
