Polly Stephens moved to Richmond, VA in 1998 after completing her residency in General Surgery in Waterbury, Ct. She joined ten male surgeons at Richmond Surgical Group and, being the only woman in the group she quickly became a busy breast surgeon. In 2005 she and her family spent a year in Wellington, New Zealand where she practiced general surgery. During that year Dr. James Pellicane started the Virginia Breast Cancer, and in 2006 Dr. Stephens returned to Virginia to join Dr. Pellicane. The practice became part of the Bon Secours Medical Group in 2007, and added a third surgeon Dr. Rashmi Vaidya last year. Dr. Stephens is chair of the Credentials Committee at St Francis Hospital. She had 3 kids but they all went off to college. She loves riding bicycles.
