While this is a proud moment as business owners, to have a wonderful opportunity to give back to our community, it is a huge undertaking. The power of a few can be great, but the power of many is unstoppable. To make this a success for the Richmond Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, we need the support of everyone, together.
October is breast cancer awareness month, and the foundation's slogan is "Passionately Pink for the Cure". We need passionate, committed, people willing to stand along side us in support of this is imperative; finding a cure for Breast Cancer.
In 2007 alone, 178,480, men and woman, will be diagnosed and 40,910 will died from this disease. Also, today, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their life time. Without the efforts of people like you, raising not only much needed funds but also awareness, this trend will continue to grow. We need to do whatever we can to turn that around and we can't do it alone. So we ask for your support.
Sponsorship of this event comes in several forms with benefits of renewed hope. With any event such as this, the expense involved can sometimes be great, but pooling our resources, to offset those costs, will mean the maximum amount of proceeds can go to serve our community to combat this disease.
The Richmond Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure has asked for our help and we can't ignore it.
